The best thing about Dane is that he is married to Jo. Theirs is a narrative of divine grace that began in 2006. Together they experience the joy of sharing and understanding, two gifts they wish that all could know firsthand. Dane has served as a career missionary in both Africa and India and although now living in North America, Dane continues to be a student of culture and language and approaches life and ministry from a definite missiological perspective. As a result, he describes himself with three terms: cultural pilgrim, student of living, and Christian communicator. He holds an earned Doctor of Philosophy degree in missiology from the University of the Free State in South Africa. Best of all, he gets to regularly hold the most incredibly special woman in the world. Having served as Chaplain of the University and Assistant Professor of Missions at East Texas Baptist University, he currently serves as Associate Vice President for Development in the University Advancement division.

The Intent of this Spiritual Journal

The intent of this Spiritual Journal is to share the thoughts expressed by saints through the ages with contemporary explanation and application. A great tragedy of our age is that we refuse to read that which is not easy to read. Treasures of wisdom and profound spiritual insight remain lodged beneath unfamiliar language and expression. Interspersed among these ancient and recent gems will be the occasional offering of a modern-day pilgrim, namely, myself. It is hoped that the combination of ancient, recent, and postmodern will provide a stable path toward relationship with the Father upon which to tread.

Really? What about your 1st wife who dedicated years to you and gave birth to your 4 children? She was with You throughout your "journeys" to Africa etc. No mention of her. Why??? Tell the entire story Dane! Very disappointed in Marshall, Tx. Never thought that I would see the day when you would not give credit where credit is due. You did not do all of this on your own and Jo was not with you during any of it. I'm sure that she is a lovely person but really now.
